Healthy Vegetarian Recipes
If you were on the hunt for healthy vegetarian recipes then you know that being a vegetarian is not always synonymous with being healthy. It is a great step (leap?) forward to cut out animal products but we all know that there are plenty of junk foods that are still vegetarian.
My brother put it best: “Anyone can make something taste good with enough butter, sugar and/or salt.”
One of the puzzles I’m always trying to solve in the kitchen is how to make healthy things taste ridiculously good. Health food doesn’t have to imply wheatgrass shots that make your lips pucker or tempeh so bland you have to chew it 100 times just to get it down.
I’m a firm believer that tasty food can be good for us and the stuff that’s good for us can be tasty.
Because truth is, food is an essential part of our lives in a way much larger than just providing us with sustenance. It’s social. Cultural. It’s nostalgic and romantic. It’s who we are. So we need to be in love with what we eat, and it needs to make us feel good. That’s how I feel anyway.
